The scientific sessions of the workshop will take place at the University of Algarve, Penha Campus, in Faro, Portugal. A map of the campus is available here.
Registration, optional meditation sessions, exhibitions, and coffee breaks will be held in the lobby areas of the “Complexo Pedagógico” building (#29). This building also hosts the two main conference rooms: Auditorium 1.5 (maximum capacity: 235 persons) and Auditorium 1.4 (maximum capacity: 86 persons). A 360° view of each auditorium is available here.
The field session and guided tour scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday, 5 May, will depart from the University of Algarve, Gambelas Campus, near the library (campus map available here).
Participants registered for this optional activity may travel between the Penha and Gambelas campuses using the workshop-reserved university bus (limited seats), public transport, or their own means. The guided tour, UAlg Hippocampus (aprox. 7.5 km) will lead the registered participants through the Ria Formosa Natural Park, following this route, from the Gambelas Campus to the barrier island known as “Faro Island beach”.
Participants who do not wish to join the walking tour may travel directly to Faro Island Beach using the workshop bus, public transport, or their own means. At this location, the sensory-participatory creative activity “Reconnecting with Nature through Active Meditation” and the final debate of Day 2 will take place (approximate location available here).
The workshop dinner on the evening of Tuesday, 5 May (for invited participants and speakers only), will be held at Tertúlia Algarvia restaurant, located in Faro’s historic old town (“Cidade Velha”), approximately a 6-minute walk from the main accommodation, Faro Boutique Hotel.
As a courtesy from the Tertúlia Restaurant, discount vouchers will be available at the workshop registration desk or by email for visits to the nearby multimedia museum Faro Story Spot, in any day of the workshop week.
